Tarkin Doctrine

Profile

The Tarkin Doctrine is the imperial strategy of preventing rebellion through visible retaliation and superweapons instead of fighting every local uprising piece by piece.

Core ideas

• Fear as order: destroy one planet, and many stay quiet
• Moff system: regional governors replace the senate
• Superweapons: Death Star, Star Destroyer fleets, spy networks

Consequences

The doctrine is exactly what makes the Rebellion necessary, and provides the emotional foundation for Andor, Rogue One and the original trilogy.
