Force visions

Definition

Force visions reveal possible futures, hidden pasts or unseen bonds. They are rarely literal, and several Star Wars characters fall because they read a vision wrong.

Characteristics

• Non-deterministic: a vision shows a possible future, not the future.
• Manipulation risk: the dark side can twist or stage visions.
• Maturity tool: Yoda teaches a Jedi to feel visions, not to control them.

Key moments

• Anakin’s dreams of Padmé’s death — the beginning of his fall
• Luke in the Dagobah cave, fighting his own mask
• Rey’s visions in The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker
