Definition

The Prime Jedi is the legendary first figure of the Jedi Order. In The Last Jedi, the Prime Jedi appears as a mosaic inside the first Jedi Temple on Ahch-To.

Meaning of the mosaic

The image does not show a simple split between light and dark. Instead, a figure sits between two halves, which is why fans often read the Prime Jedi as a symbol of original balance.

Canon status

In current canon, the Prime Jedi is mostly a symbol rather than a fully explored character. Still, the mosaic points toward a very early phase of Jedi history long before the High Republic.

The Prime Jedi matters because it concentrates major questions about Jedi origins, balance, and the difference between the Jedi Order’s rules and the Force itself.
