Leia Organa

Profile

Princess Leia Organa is the adoptive daughter of Bail Organa, senator of Alderaan and a central figure of the Rebellion. After Endor she becomes general of the Resistance against the First Order.

Role

• hides the Death Star plans inside R2-D2
• runs Alliance diplomacy between senators, pilots and worlds
• shapes the Resistance as General Organa in the sequel trilogy

Appearances

The original trilogy, a brief Rogue One cameo, Rebels, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the sequel trilogy track her path from senator to symbol.

Why she matters

Leia connects the political layer (Mon Mothma, Bail) with the military layer (Red Squadron, Han) and the Force layer (Luke, Vader). She is the bracket of the saga.
