Jedha Uprising

Definition

The Jedha Uprising is a central conflict of the early Rebellion against the Empire. On the holy moon of Jedha, Saw Gerrera’s Partisans fight Imperial occupation troops mining kyber crystals for the Death Star.

Why Jedha is special

Jedha is a spiritual hub of the Force. Pilgrims, libraries and ancient temples overlap with Imperial mining logistics. Religion and war economy collide head-on.

Consequences

The Death Star’s test fire destroys Jedha’s capital. The uprising ends, but the footage becomes a Rebel propaganda weapon.

Fan relevance

Jedha shows that Rogue One is not just a heist film. It makes visible what the Empire does to the faithful, the pilgrims and its own history to build one superweapon.
