The great hyperspace lanes are the major interstellar trade routes of the galaxy. They connect the Core Worlds to the Mid Rim and Outer Rim, shaping which planets gain money, power and political voice.

Major routes

• Perlemian Trade Route – one of the oldest routes, linking Coruscant with the Tion Cluster.
• Corellian Trade Spine – Corellia’s commercial artery and a magnet for freighters, smugglers and Hutt influence.
• Hydian Way – a vertical galactic route that makes remote Outer Rim travel practical.
• Corellian Run and Rimma Trade Route – vital supply and smuggling corridors.

Why it matters

During the High Republic, new lanes open unknown worlds and allow the Jedi and Republic to operate far from the Core. That expansion also attracts the Nihil and makes Starlight Beacon a symbol worth attacking.

• Economy: whoever controls a lane controls taxes, trade and smuggling.
• War: the Clone Wars and Empire depend on lanes for troop movement.
• Underworld: Hutts, Pykes and Crimson Dawn fight over route nodes.
