Empire Day

Definition

Empire Day is the Galactic Empire’s propaganda holiday. It marks Palpatine’s declaration of the New Order and turns the fall of the Republic into an annual imperial celebration.

In the galaxy

For loyal worlds, Empire Day means parades, HoloNet speeches and symbols of imperial power. For occupied systems, the same day is a warning: refusing to celebrate makes you visible.

Rebel reading

Because Empire Day is so public, it also creates opportunities for resistance. Sabotage, graffiti, secret meetings and local remembrance rituals can undercut the official story.

Why it matters

Empire Day connects the prequel tragedy to shows like Rebels, Andor and The Bad Batch: it shows how a coup becomes an annual ritual.
