The Force is an omnipresent energy field that penetrates all living beings and connects them. It is used by Jedi and Sith to acquire superhuman abilities.

What is the Force?

The Force is a mysterious energy field that connects the entire galaxy. Some describe it as an ocean you can swim in — others as a light that calls to you.

Light and Dark

The Force can be used in two ways:

• The Light Side — Self-sacrifice, love, peace
• The Dark Side — Anger, fear, aggression

The Sith used the dark side to gain power — but the price was high. The Jedi taught that the dark side is a quick path that leads to corruption.

Midi-Chlorians

Midi-chlorians are microscopic life forms that live in all cells and enable their hosts to use the Force. The more midi-chlorians, the stronger the connection to the Force.

Anakin Skywalker had the highest midi-chlorian concentration ever measured — 20,000 per cell.
