Battle of Crait

Profile

The Battle of Crait (34 ABY) is the desperate last stand of the Resistance inside an old Rebel base on the salt planet Crait. It closes Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

Setup

The Resistance has shrunk to a few dozen members. General Leia Organa, Poe Dameron and Finn hold the bunker while the First Order under Kylo Ren advances with mini AT-ATs and a battering-ram cannon.

Turning point

Luke Skywalker appears on the battlefield — as a Force projection from Ach-To. His presence ties up Kylo Ren, steadies Leia and buys the Resistance the minutes it needs to escape through back tunnels.

Symbolism

Crait ends with a stable boy looking at a Resistance ring under a starlit sky — the saga says hope is shared, not concentrated in heroes.

Why it matters

Crait is the bridge between Lukes final act and the Resistance comeback in Episode IX. It defines what the Resistance can still be without Jedi.
