Bail Organa

Profile

Bail Organa is the senator of Alderaan, adoptive father of Leia and one of the earliest co-founders of the Rebellion. He funds cells, shelters Jedi survivors and helps Mon Mothma build the future Alliance.

Role

• hides Yoda and Obi-Wan after Order 66
• builds the senate-banks-underground axis together with Mon Mothma
• dies with Alderaan when the first Death Star fires

Appearances

Episode III, Rebels, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor show his work between politics, family and the early Rebellion.

Why he matters

Bail Organa is the reason the Rebellion exists at all in phase one. His death with Alderaan turns the Tarkin Doctrine into something emotionally tangible.
