Unknown Regions

Definition

The Unknown Regions sit beyond reliable galactic charts and are difficult to navigate. Many routes are dangerous, incomplete or barely controlled politically.

Role in Star Wars

After Endor, Imperial remnants flee into this region. Power bases there eventually feed the rise of the First Order and Palpatine’s hidden Sith fleet.

Why it matters

The region explains how defeated enemies can disappear for decades, gather resources and return as a new threat.
