Strand-cast clones
Reading time: 5 min
Definition
Strand-cast clones are Imperial creations grown from a single genetic strand of a donor. They are rarely stable and difficult to train for Force empathy.
Snoke
Current canon treats Snoke as a strand-cast from Palpatine’s plans — a tool meant to lead the First Order without revealing Palpatine’s hand.
Why it matters
The concept shows why the sequel trilogy is not built from nothing: there is a long Imperial tradition of growing loyalty rather than earning it.
