What counts as canon today

Definition

Canon in Star Wars today covers all official films, shows, books, comics and games released since the Disney takeover — plus the six Lucas films and The Clone Wars.

What is not canon?

Many old books, games and comics now sit under Legends. They are not “wrong”, but Lucasfilm is no longer required to respect them.

Why it matters

If you want to follow lore debates, knowing whether a source is canon or Legends helps a lot — otherwise arguments quickly happen in two realities at once.
