Soresu (Form III)

Definition

Soresu is the Jedi defensive form: minimal movement, tight guard and disciplined blaster deflection. It makes the user hard to hit and forces opponents into long exchanges.

Effect

Soresu conserves energy and feeds on the opponent’s patience. The biggest payoff comes when the enemy overcommits and exposes a counter window.

Relevance to the saga

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the best-known Soresu master, both against Grievous and Vader. Kanan Jarrus adopts the form in Star Wars Rebels.
