Separatists

Definition

The Separatists are the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS): worlds and corporations that break away from the Galactic Republic and form their own government during the war.

Who runs it

Publicly led by Count Dooku, militarily by General Grievous. Funded by the Banking Clan, Trade Federation and Techno Union. Behind it all: Darth Sidious, playing both sides against each other.

Strategy

Instead of classical conquest, the Separatists rely on droid armies, supply chains and political pressure. Republic worlds are meant to join out of fear, corruption or distrust — not by invasion.

Fan relevance

The Separatists explain why the Republic falls without the public noticing: the war is a stage on which emergency laws, clone armies and a new chancellor are quietly legitimised.
