Purrgil

Definition

Purrgil are gigantic star whales that can travel through hyperspace. They appear first in Rebels and return as a key element of Ahsoka.

Importance

Ezra Bridger forces a purrgil pod to jump into the unknown with Thrawn to save the rebel homeworld of Lothal. Ahsoka uses the same method to send Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera to Peridea.

Why it matters

Purrgil are the only known natural hyperspace travel between galaxies. They enable Star Wars stories beyond the familiar map without inventing new technology.
