Naboo
Overview
Naboo is a green Core world with elegant architecture, an elected monarchy and a long history of peaceful diplomacy. As the home of Padmé Amidala and Sheev Palpatine, Naboo is simultaneously the cradle of a forbidden love and the launchpad of the Sith.
The Invasion
The Trade Federation blockades and occupies Naboo, which becomes the trigger event of Episode I. Padmé, Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan, Anakin and the Gungans form an unlikely alliance that liberates the capital Theed.
Politics
Naboo elects its queens, holds a Senate seat and binds itself closely to the Gungans after the invasion. Through Palpatine’s political rise, Naboo becomes the stage on which democracy willingly surrenders to security promises.
Padmé and Anakin
In Episode II, Padmé hides on Naboo, and her romance with Anakin deepens. Their secret wedding by the lake anchors the romantic tragedy of the prequel trilogy.
Significance
Naboo shows how beautiful Star Wars looks when architecture, diplomacy and Force politics align. At the same time, Naboo is the world where a single senator manages to set the entire galaxy on a Sith course.
