The Son (Mortis)

Definition

The Son of Mortis embodies the dark side of the Force in the Mortis arc from The Clone Wars. He attempts to corrupt Anakin Skywalker and escape Mortis.

Tempting Anakin

The Son shows Anakin visions of his future as Darth Vader. For a moment, Anakin believes he can prevent that destiny — but the fear of losing control is exactly what later enables his fall.

Power and chaos

The Son represents rage, possession and the temptation to control everything. He is not a Sith, but his behavior explains why Sith ideology is so dangerous.

Why it matters

The Son turns the dark side into more than a philosophy. In the Mortis arc it becomes a cosmic force capable of testing and breaking even the Chosen One.
