Moff

Definition

A Moff is a senior Imperial governor who controls an entire sector of the galaxy, combining political authority with military power.

Where Moffs fit

Moffs sit above local governors and answer to the Imperial center. Grand Moffs such as Tarkin control especially important regions or strategic projects.

Why the title matters

The rank explains how the Empire operates beyond Vader and Palpatine. Many worlds experience Imperial rule through Moffs, garrisons, laws and economic pressure.
