Machete Order

Definition

The Machete Order is a film viewing order that skips Episode I: IV, V, II, III, VI, VII, VIII, IX.

Logic

It keeps the ‘I am your father’ cliffhanger as a surprise and uses the prequels as flashback — Episode I is treated as skippable.

Recommendation

Good for patient first-time viewers. If you want Anakin’s rise from the start, use release order I–IX instead.
