The Light Side

Definition

The light side of the Force is the path of calm, compassion and connection. It clarifies in peace and only goes passive-defensive in conflict.

• No hatred
• No fear
• No personal attachment
• Action from clarity, not emotion

Weaknesses

In war the light side is more defensive than the dark. If you refuse to kill you lose some battles. Yoda, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu learn this the hard way during the Clone Wars.

Why it matters

The light side answers the question: what is this all for? If you only know the dark side, you only know the tool — not the why.
