Clone Troopers
Profile
Clone Troopers were the soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. They were grown on Kamino from the genetic material of Jango Fett — and were the most loyal soldiers in the galaxy.
Origins
The clone army was commissioned by the mysterious Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas — but Darth Sidious (Palpatine) took control of the project and used it for his own plans.
Breeding
On Kamino, clones were grown in accelerator tanks — they aged twice as fast as normal humans, but were perfect soldiers. They were bred in various variants:
- Clone Battle Droids (Phase I) — Standard clone soldiers
- Clone Command Troopers — Special forces
- Clone Pilots — For starfighters and other craft
Order 66
Order 66 was the command that had all Jedi killed by the Clone Troopers. The clones had this order programmed into their behavior from the beginning — proof of Sidious’s manipulation.
After the Clone Wars
After the Clone Wars, the clone troops were replaced by recruited humans — the new Stormtroopers. But the elite clone troops continued to serve for a long time.
