Hutts

Profile

The Hutts are long-lived, slug-like beings from Nal Hutta who rule large parts of the underworld as clan bosses. The Hutt Council parcels out smuggling routes, casino districts and political safe zones.

Key figures

• Jabba the Hutt: Tatooine villain of the original trilogy.
• Ziro the Hutt: Political schemer from The Clone Wars.
• The Twins (The Book of Boba Fett): Heirs to Jabba’s territory.

Economy

Hutts control gambling, slavery, drugs and mercenaries. They negotiate with the Empire, the Alliance and the First Order without officially aligning.

Why they matter

The Hutts are the political counterweight to Empire and Rebellion — and the reason Tatooine, Boba Fett and The Mandalorian share the same economic logic.
