Darth Bane

Profile

Darth Bane is the Sith Lord who defines the Rule of Two: one master, one apprentice. In Legends he anchors the Sith reformation; in Canon he is acknowledged as a historical Sith figure.

Why Bane matters

Before Bane, Sith orders often weakened themselves through internal power struggles. Bane drew a radical conclusion: the Sith should not appear as an army, but grow stronger in secret.

Saga connection

Bane’s lineage indirectly leads to Darth Sidious and Darth Vader. Without that rule, Palpatine’s patient rise is much harder to imagine.
