Count Dooku

Definition

Count Dooku, also Darth Tyranus, is the public leader of the Separatists and Palpatine’s Sith apprentice during the Clone Wars.

Function in the plan

Dooku gives the Republic a visible enemy. As Tyranus, he also helps connect the clone army to the eventual fall of the Jedi.

Why he matters

He makes the war believable: to Separatists he is an aristocrat and reformer, to the Republic a traitor, and to Sidious a replaceable tool.
