Chiss

Profile

The Chiss are a blue-skinned, red-eyed species from the Unknown Regions. Their homeworld Csilla is frozen; the Chiss Ascendancy combines noble houses, military hierarchy and strategic discipline.

Key figures

• Grand Admiral Thrawn: Strategist, art analyst and imperial outsider.
• Ar’alani: Admiral of the Chiss Ascendancy.
• Ezra Bridger / Sabine Wren: Cross-over threads from Rebels and Ahsoka.

Strategy

Chiss doctrine reads an opponent’s culture before defeating them militarily. Thrawn turns still-life paintings into battle plans — a Star Wars argument that intelligence matters as much as power.

Why they matter

The Chiss are the gateway to the Unknown Regions — and therefore to the Ahsoka show, the Heir-to-the-Empire trilogy and the new post-sequel canon.
