The Bounty Hunter Code is the Guild’s unwritten ruleset: never steal another hunter’s mark, deliver living targets alive, and pay for reputation with loyalty to the Guild.

How it works

The code explains why Boba Fett does not kill Han Solo himself in The Empire Strikes Back but delivers him to Jabba — and why Din Djarin instantly becomes a hunted man the moment he saves Grogu.

Why it matters

Once you understand the code, every Mandalorian-era conflict reads differently: the tension comes less from action and more from clearly broken rules.
