Baylan Skoll

Definition

Baylan Skoll is a former Jedi who survived Order 66 and works as a Force mercenary in Ahsoka. On Peridea he searches for an older, untamed Force that reaches beyond Sith and Jedi.

Importance

With Baylan and his student Shin Hati, Ahsoka offers a third Force position: not Jedi, not Sith and not neutral. Baylan accepts contracts for money but wants to break the galaxy out of its repeating cycle.

Why it matters

Baylan Skoll is the most important new mentor figure since Luke. His arc opens future films and series to a Force concept that links religion, politics and history.
