Droideka
Reading time: 4 min
Profile
The Droideka is the most dangerous standard CIS droid: rolls in folded, unfolds in two seconds, opens fire with twin blasters and activates a deflector shield.
Shield
The shield makes lightsabers useless. Even Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon flee in Episode I when the first droidekas appear.
Tactical role
Shock defender at choke points: doors, bridges, cockpits. Anyone expecting a droideka brings a plan B — usually grenades or heavy weapons.
Why it matters
The droideka is the worst-case scenario for Clone Wars Jedi. When one shows up, the plan changes.
