Blaster
Reading time: 4 min
Profile
The blaster is the standard galactic weapon. Instead of slugs it fires energetic plasma, accelerated through tibanna gas from the Bespin clouds.
Plasma vs. lightsaber
A lightsaber can deflect blaster plasma — the blade’s magnetic envelope redirects the bolt back through the tip. That is why trained Jedi are so effective against stormtroopers.
Models
- DL-44 — Han Solo’s heavy pistol
- E-11 — Stormtrooper carbine
- DC-15 — clone trooper rifle
- A280 — Rebellion standard
Why it matters
The blaster is the middle class between lightsabre and starship weapon. Anyone without the Force has a blaster.
