The ARC-170 (Aggressive ReConnaissance fighter) is the heavy Republic starfighter of the Clone Wars. Three-man crew: pilot, co-pilot, tail gunner.
Clone Wars
Used for long-range recon and escort. In Revenge of the Sith it appears in swarms during the Battle of Coruscant.
Predecessor of the X-Wing
Visually (four wings, open cannon paths) and conceptually the ARC-170 is the bridge to the Rebellion’s X-Wing — both designed by Incom.
Why it matters
The ARC-170 is the heaviest standard Republic fighter of the Clone Wars. If you fly one, you’re a pro — not a cadet.
