Profile

Ryloth is the home of the Twi’leks — a tidally locked world whose dayside burns and nightside freezes. Life happens on the terminator line, in cliff cities and cave networks.

Clone Wars

During the Clone Wars the Confederacy of Independent Systems occupied Ryloth. Mace Windu and the 91st Reconnaissance Corps liberated the planet alongside Cham Syndulla, the leading Twi’lek insurgent.

Empire and uprising

Under the Empire Ryloth became a source of spice and ryll. Cham Syndulla’s family continued the underground resistance. His daughter Hera Syndulla left to look for the larger Rebellion — a father-daughter conflict that runs all the way into Rebels.

Lessu

The capital Lessu sits on a sheer plateau accessible only over a single retractable bridge. A perfect chokepoint and a recurring location in every Ryloth storyline.

Why it matters

Ryloth represents the worlds between the major conflicts — the Twi’leks have fought three different powers without ever sitting on the front of the galactic map.
