Mon Cala is an almost entirely oceanic world — home of the amphibious Mon Calamari and the Quarren. In its deep-sea shipyards the most important fleet of the Rebel Alliance was built.

Clone Wars and tyranny

In The Clone Wars, the alliance between Mon Calamari and Quarren collapsed in a Separatist-provoked civil war. Anakin, Ahsoka and Padmé stabilized young King Lee-Char.

Shipyards of the Rebel Alliance

Beneath Mon Cala’s oceans, the MC80 class was built — the backbone of the Rebel fleet, including the Home One of Admiral Ackbar. In Rogue One, Admiral Raddus shows the power of this fleet against the first Death Star.

Endor and beyond

The Battle of Endor would not have been winnable without Mon Calamari ships. After Endor, Mon Cala provided most of the New Republic’s shipyards as well.

Why it matters

Mon Cala is the shipbuilding node of the Rebellion. Without these oceans, no Scarif, no Endor.
