Profile

Lothal is a world of golden grasslands and low hills in the Outer Rim and the central setting of Star Wars Rebels. What began as a quiet farming world became the first world the Empire openly lost in front of its own eyes.

Imperial exploitation

The Empire built factories for the TIE Defender, mines for doonium, and interrogation centers around the capital Capital City. Lothal became the textbook example of imperial industrial exploitation.

Spectre crew

The Ghost under Hera Syndulla turned Lothal into its operational base. Here Ezra Bridger met Kanan Jarrus and became one of the first new Padawans of the late Clone War era.

Liberation

In the Rebels finale, Ezra frees Lothal through a maneuver he can only complete by sacrificing himself into the deep-space migration paths of the purrgil. Lothal stays free until the Empire’s fall.

Loth-wolves

The white loth-wolves are Force-sensitive beings who lead Ezra through Lothal’s past. They quietly return in Ahsoka in the memories of the characters.

Why it matters

Lothal is the pilot program of the Rebellion — the first world to prove that the Empire can be beaten.
