Overview
Jakku is an isolated desert planet in the Outer Rim that serves as a scrapyard for remnants of the Battle of Jakku. Here, Rey’s journey with BB-8 began.

Jakku is a desolate desert planet with extreme temperature fluctuations. The surface is littered with wreckage from the Battle of Jakku – remnants of Star Destroyers, fighters, and other military debris.
Niima Outpost
The only inhabited outpost on Jakku is Niima Outpost, a small marketplace where scrap collectors like Rey trade or sell their finds.
The Battle of Jakku
The Battle of Jakku took place six months after the Battle of Endor and was the last major confrontation between the Rebellion and the Empire. The New Order’s victory decided the outcome of the civil war in favor of the Empire.
