Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

Plot

The Clone Wars rage across the galaxy. Anakin Skywalker has become a legendary Jedi General, but he has disturbing visions of Padmé dying in childbirth.

Palpatine reveals himself to be a Sith Lord and offers Anakin the power to save those he loves. Tempted by this promise, Anakin agrees to become his apprentice.

The Fall of the Jedi

Palpatine issues Order 66, turning the clone troopers against the Jedi. Across the galaxy, Jedi are hunted down and executed. The Empire rises from the ashes of the Republic.

The Duel on Mustafar

Obi-Wan Kenobi confronts his former Padawan on the volcanic planet Mustafar. In an epic lightsaber duel, Obi-Wan defeats Anakin, leaving him burning on the shores of a lava river.

The Birth of Vader

Palpatine finds the mortally wounded Anakin and brings him to Coruscant, where he is encased in the black armor of Darth Vader.

Padmé’s Death

Padmé gives birth to Luke and Leia before dying of a broken heart. The children are hidden from the Empire – Luke on Tatooine, Leia on Alderaan.

Legacy

Revenge of the Sith depicts the tragic fall of Anakin Skywalker and the end of the Jedi Order. It remains the darkest Star Wars film.
