Qui-Gon Jinn was a wise and independent Jedi Master known for his unorthodox views and deep understanding of the Living Force. He was the mentor of Obi-Wan Kenobi and discovered Anakin Skywalker’s extraordinary connection to the Force.
Discovering Anakin Skywalker
During the blockade of Naboo, Qui-Gon landed on Tatooine and met the young slave boy Anakin Skywalker. He immediately recognized the boy’s enormous potential in the Force and believed he was the Chosen One who would restore balance.
The Battle of Naboo
Qui-Gon led his group through the invasion of the Trade Federation and fought against the Sith Lord Darth Maul. In the lightsaber duel, he sacrificed himself to give Obi-Wan the opportunity to defeat Darth Maul.
The Living Force
Unlike many Jedi of his time, Qui-Gon firmly believed in the Living Force — the immediate, present experience of the Force. He taught that one should not just stare at prophecies but also listen to the now.
Legacy
Qui-Gon Jinn became a symbol of the wisdom and freedom of the Jedi Order. His unconventional thinking and willingness to break rules when it came to the well-being of others make him one of the most beloved Jedi.
