Padme Amidala
Profile
Padme Amidala was both Queen and Senator of Naboo and one of the bravest voices against tyranny in the galaxy. She was the secret love of Anakin Skywalker and the mother of Luke and Leia.
Career
Padme was elected Queen of Naboo at age 14 — and led her people in the fight against the Trade Federation. Later she became a Senator and was one of the loudest voices against Palpatine’s concentration of power.
The Forbidden Love
Padme and Anakin began their relationship during the Clone Wars. Despite the Jedi Order’s prohibitions, they married in secret — and Padme became pregnant.
The Tragedy
After Anakin’s fall to the dark side, Padme died — officially from a broken heart. She lost the will to live after learning that Anakin had turned evil. But she gave birth to twins Luke and Leia before she died.
Legacy
Padme was one of the strongest female figures in Star Wars — a queen, warrior, and senator. Her children continued her legacy.
The Last Question
In Episode III, Obi-Wan asks Padme: “Is he alive?” — “He must be.” — this one lie shows her last act of love.
