Mace Windu was one of the most powerful Jedi Masters of his time and the only Council member who distrusted Palpatine. He developed the Vaapad lightsaber combat style and was known for his uncompromising stance against the dark side.

His Greatest Deed

Mace Windu was the Jedi who identified Darth Sidious — the hidden Sith Lord — and faced him. In a battle that no one else could have won, he confronted the Emperor.

Vaapad

Windu developed Vaapad — a lightsaber combat style that comes so close to the dark side that it is too dangerous for most Jedi. Windu was the only Jedi who mastered it.

The Battle Against Sidious

In Episode III, Mace Windu was the Jedi who exposed Sidious and went to his office with three other Jedi — Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, and Agen Kolar. He was the only one who survived.

The End

Mace Windu was killed by Anakin — who was forced to choose between his political career and saving Sidious. Anakin fell to the dark side, and Windu died.
