Finn (FN-2199)

Profile

Finn (originally FN-2199) was a Stormtrooper of the First Order who switched sides during the Battle of Jakku. He was among the first humans recruited as Stormtroopers — and became one of the most heroic Resistance fighters.

Early Life

As a child, Finn was recruited by the First Order and trained as a Stormtrooper. He served under Captain Phasma and was known for his combat skills.

The Desertion

During the Battle of Jakku, Finn refused to fire on innocent civilians — an act of resistance that changed his entire trajectory. He fled with scavenger TN-3465.

Meeting Rey

Finn found BB-8 and Rey on Jakku — and joined them, even though he only wanted to flee. He chose to fight for the right cause.

Cultural Significance

Finn was the first Black lead character in a Star Wars film. His portrayal by John Boyega was an important moment for diversity in the franchise.
