Count Dooku / Darth Tyranus
Profile
Count Dooku was a former Jedi Master who switched sides and became one of the most dangerous Sith Lords. He was the leader of the Separatist movement and the mentor of Asajj Ventress.
The Fall
Dooku was a brilliant Jedi, but he saw the corruption in the Republic and the weakness of the Jedi Order. Darth Sidious manipulated him and made him his new apprentice.
The Deceptions
In Episode II, Count Dooku killed Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas — who had ordered the clone army. Sidious took control of this army and used it for his plans.
Kenobi’s Challenge
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker challenged Dooku in Episode II and Episode III. In Episode III, Dooku was killed by Anakin — despite Obi-Wan’s warning.
Darth Tyranus
His Sith name was Tyranus — fitting his desire to tyrannize the Republic. He was Sidious’s right hand and the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Cultural Significance
Dooku, played by Christopher Lee, brought an elegant and dark presence to the Prequels. His fall showed that even the most noble Jedi are susceptible to manipulation.
